Safety Recall and Service Campaign Information – Frequently Asked Questions

Toyota of Orange’s primary focus is the safety of you and your family. We understand that you may have questions about your Safety Recall or Service Campaign, so we prepared this document to address the most commonly asked questions we receive. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Why does it take so long to complete my safety recall? Even with an appointment?

  • It is critical that your Toyota safety recall is performed by a factory trained technician specifically certified to conduct your recall. We understand how valuable your time is and we make every effort to meet promised times, however, sometimes we need to adjust these times throughout the day in order to ensure that we perform this critical work with the highest quality. Again, our primary focus is you and your passenger’s safety, so we appreciate your understanding. Toyota of Orange factory trained technicians are trained to:
    • Do it right, as if you were working on a loved one’s vehicle
    • Follow all recall and service campaign procedures exactly as presented in Toyotas documentation
    • Take as much time as you need and put your focus on quality, not speed.

Does Toyota cover a rental vehicle at no charge during my safety recall repair?

  • Most safety recalls do not cover the cost of alternate transportation, and for this reason Toyota of Orange has options for our customers for convenience.
    • $35 per day for rental vehicle (limited availability)
    • Complimentary shuttle drop off and pick up service within 10 miles (allow 1-1.5 hr)

Why are other cars going into the shop before mine?

  • At Toyota of Orange we have 2 shops, and work on over 200 customer vehicles everyday! Some vehicles are coming in for express maintenance service and others for main shop service.
    • TXM (Toyota Express Maintenance)- Quick service for minor service maintenance work.
    • MAIN SHOP- Diagnostic concerns, safety recalls, and repair work (Requires additional time, and may experience delays)- Best to plan for alternate transportation.
